Alex Lama Mexico City, Mexico
Alumni Profile
“I’m proud to be a member of the Lost Boys Alumni. I was able to learn more and faster with Mark Bénard’s project based training than all the years I spent trying to learn by myself. I found this method of learning very fluid, beginning with simple but complete projects that eventually turned more challenging which allowed me to explore different tools and techniques. My classmates and I had a great time during our visits to Vancouver’s CG related companies as well as the multiple social activities. I highly recommend LBL as a VFX training school.”

Why did you decide to attend LBL?
I did extensive research about all schools in Canada. I knew who the Lost Boys were, I saw the good quality of the projects done by the students, the tuition cost was reasonable and I got all my questions answered when I emailed Mark.
What was it like living on Vancouver Island?
The Comox Valley is a beautiful place with amazing landscapes, most of the time very calm.
What was your favorite project and why?
My personal project (Robot Arms) because I liked the concept and I did a little bit of everything I learned.
How was the project-based learning experience?
Interesting, I like the fact that one can start using the tools and creating full projects since the very beginning.
What did you like to do outside of the classroom?
Play with Max and Natalie, go jogging in the mornings, take some dance classes.
